ArcSoft Inc’s Print Creations Cards & Calendars is an easy-to-use program with very simple tools and limited capability to customize elements. One of the nice features the greeting card software offers is the ability to record signatures to use on different cards. Say you’re creating a birthday card for a niece, a “thinking of you” card for a friend and a get well soon card for a neighbor you can create three different signature types (i.e. aunt/uncle, nickname and full name) that are appropriate for each of the recipients. You can download a variety of additional project templates through the developer’s web site that range from free to $1.99 for cards and $5.99 for calendars. However, the program doesn’t include any additional graphics and doesn’t support designing from scratch.
The software’s interface is very clean and structured and effectively guides you through the card design process without much possibility for deviating off the path. It makes designing a project very quick but does tend to be a bit limiting. Outside of changing the font style, size and color and rotating the text box, there’s not much you can do to the sentiment. There are a set number of text fields on the card’s interior (usually only two, depending on the design) with no option to add more. You can’t mix fonts or sizes within the text boxes either.
Print Creations Cards and Calendars is a decent greeting card design program if a bit limited and overpriced.
