Ease of Use:  

Print Artist Platinum provides an extensive set of tutorials for the more involved features of the program. At startup, you’re presented with a welcome screen where you can choose from five options: open an existing project, choose a pre-designed project, design a project from scratch, view the tutorial or close. This screen reappears whenever you begin another project by choosing the “New” icon.

The drawbacks include being frustrated by the inability to delete pages in projects that were pre-designed with multiple pages. We recommend spending some time with the tutorials included in the program to familiarize yourself with the different features.
 

Feature Set:  

Print Artist Platinum has a considerable number of features for the greeting card enthusiast. In addition to the numerous templates, fonts and graphics included with the program there is also a substantial photo editor that provides a good selection of tools. Create polished projects in three simple steps using the pre-designed templates or work from scratch and design your own.

In addition to the many greeting card designs, both traditional and photographic, included in the program, there are also a range of other interesting projects such as calendars, CD slide shows, designed email headers, office forms, stationery and fabric transfers for items like T-shirts, tote bags and aprons. If you’re creating party invites Print Artist Platinum can also help you create the party decorations to coordinate.

If you’re not too picky about having all the bells and whistles that go along with the Platinum version of this program, you can purchase Print Artist Gold for almost half price. From what we can see, the only difference between the two programs is the amount of art included in the purchase. This version would be recommended to anyone who rarely uses the art that comes with a program.
 

Ease of Installation:  

Installation was quick and simple and we encountered no problems during the process.

Help/Support:  

Nova Development provides help and support both within the Print Artist Platinum program as well as on the developer’s website. Another nice feature the developer offers is the online user community where other users have posted questions and comments about the product. If you’re a patient person, try telephone customer service. You will get what you’re looking for, but it will take awhile.

Overall, Print Artist Platinum is a very strong entry in the greeting card software field. The program offers an extensive number of features and extras all in a single program without the need for a subscription or more downloads to access additional images or project designs. This is a great package for the user that wants more than just the standard greeting cards in their design program.
